The last block of license agreement is not translated?

Yasuhiko Kamata
Hi,

I'm now testing openSUSE Leap 42.3 beta. Found the last block of license
agreement (starting with "As required by US law, you represent"...) is not
translated.

The source code of this license agreement
https://github.com/openSUSE/skelcd-openSUSE/blob/master/license/TEMPLATE
has no corresponding block (so that I cannot translate it via Weblate).

Should this block be translated or removed?

Thanks,

All should be translated...
The curious thing is that the license will be shown as 100% translated in all languages.
So it is a bug.
Thanks for testing!

Can you create a bug report with a laguage example on Bugzilla [1] with the topic "missing license part in po files", please?

Thanks!

Sarah

Nice, not many scroll down that far :-)

It's a bug in translate-toolkit. The block shouldn't be there. It's
already fixed but the affected package wasn't rebuilt. I'll trigger a
full rebuild over the weekend. Please verify the fix with a build after
the weekend.

I did, and noticed it was not translated in my language since 42.1 at least.

Thanks for pointing.
Ludwig said that this bug was already fixed and waiting for rebuild
in another mail. So I'll re-check after rebuild.

Is there any reason you didn't report this issue?
We need full translations everywhere in openSUSE...

I did not know it affected any other language. I commented it here or in
private to the translator. I also tried to do it myself, I was unable to
do it, commented about that, got no response, so I had to leave it as that.

Here, and/or to the translator in private.
I do not use Weblate, sorry.

I can also tell you that the release notes are not fully translated, as
I can see them in
"/usr/share/doc/release-notes/openSUSE/RELEASE-NOTES.es.html".

It seems that's such a long time ago I wasn't on this list...
Private isn't public. So we can't read that, if you write it as PM.
But thaks for the info.

Yes, because it isn't all translated in this language: https://l10n.opensuse.org/languages/es/release-notes-opensuse/
There is a difference between "something isn't translated" and "something translated won't be shown and we have got 100% translated".

That seems like a subtlety that is not easily noticed when one
is just doing an installation. (The distinction is important
for the resolution of course.)

Anyway, I don't normally switch between installer languages
ten times, just to find out whether something is not
translated because the translators missed something/were not
quick enough or because there is a systematic error.

Stefan.

That was the reason for the suggestion to report bugs (or to ask here), if someone who translated something 100% doesn't see his result in openSUSE.

Hi,

I have found such an issue this weekend, too.
yast-slide-show won't be shown translated. The German translation is 100% translated,
but we have got a mixture of German/ Englisch during the installation.

Slide show is not translated (was: The last block of license agreement is not translated?)

Yasuhiko Kamata
Hello,

Slide show texts still seems to be un-translated in 42.3-Build0321;
For example,

http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/42.3/repo/oss/suse/0321-setup/slide/txt/ja/02_opensuse.rtf

has non-translated text ("openSUSE is a community of projects"...),
but it was already translated at
https://l10n.opensuse.org/translate/yast-slide-show/master/ja/.

Thanks,
