This is my first post to the list. I'm interested in writing for or
otherwise contributing to the SUSE documentation team. I'm a
librarian, a SUSE user (since 2004), have some training in Linux/Unix
systems administration, and I'm familiar with SGML and DocBook. I'm
not a developer, but I'd like to contribute to Documentation any way
I can; indexing, writing, proofing, mark-up, whatever the need is at
the moment. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Many thanks,

James

Have you heard about the Lessons for Lizards project?
http://developer.novell.com/wiki/index.php/Lessons_for_Lizards

It's a community book project maintained by the SUSE doc team with
contributions from both the community and the SUSE team.

This would probably be the perfect place for you to start. Both in a
writer's and in a proofreader's role.

There's also a version of the openSUSE doc style guide available online
(check out the Getting Help section on the above mentioned Web page).

We'd be glad to welcome you on board ;)

Jana

Yea, we're happy !

There are a lot of places where we need better documentation -
especially KDE4 and compiz-fusion areas. But you are free to choose
your way :) !
